I’m stoked because I got a bunch of records in the mail today and I have more yet to come. I’m trying not to be just a downloader of music but also a buyer of music, which I guess I’ve been doing for 30+ years now. Got Kiss’ Hotter Than Hell off of Ebay along with some crust stuff, also from Ebay but from a guy I know from blogging, Nate of True Punk and Metal. Still expecting a 7″ Ive been after for some time from Erich over at Good Bad Music but that one’s coming clear over from Switzerland. Cheers to the guys who make stuff available.
Don’t you wish all your problems could be solved with a simple scratch under the chin?
I was tellin the old lady that it says something bout a person who dresses up their dogs. Their tales were waggin because I had some chunks of meat for treats but they weren’t too impressed with the outfits.
Ghostly on the porch at night. Anyway…
In my searching on the various blogs that you can find in my links I’ve run across all kinds of cool bands and one such is the incredible Bruce Banner. I can’t seem to find any of their stuff to buy so I’m pretty much stuck with what I can find on the blogs. I can’t remember which blog turned me onto them, but it made such an impact that I went and found a torrent that had their discography. If you dig power violence (or are they grindcore, the line is so blurred now) then they are where it’s at these days. In that discography though was this split 7″ and if Bruce Banner blew me away then Sayyadina knocked me to my knees. The drumming alone in this band makes the music well worth sampling. You can get this 7″ in a much better rip from Pabst over at his Am I Mean blog from here along with a lot more of their stuff if you do a search there. Bruce Banner has some web presence here while Sayyadina can be found here and here. Oh yeah my bro Jason over at Lo Res Viscera has one of Sayyadina’s albums here. So if you dig Power Violence or Grindcore then you will dig both these bands and actually if you’re a fan you probably know about these already. Regardless of what music you like you must listen to at least one tune by Sayyadina like “Nothing”.

thanks for spreading the word!
SAYYADINA were supposed to share a split with IRON LUNG but they said that it most likely won’t happen anymore. that would have been a hell of a split 7″!
they also said that their Mourning The Unknown full length will finally released on vinyl soon. though I consider their 1st 12″ to be the better of their 2 full lengths!
“Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry”…Bruce Banner rules! I have their “I’ve had it with Humanity” CD and it totally rips! Gonna post that one for you man if you still don’t have it. I also got their split with BUSH somewhere in the net and it’s also a must have.
I love coming home and seeing that 12 x 12 box waiting for me by the door. It’s like Christmas all throughout the year! Good choice with this split. Both bands are just incredible. Thanks for sharing, Justin, and thanks to you Mat for the news about the LP… I’m picking that up ASAP!
hahaha, this kind of boxes waiting by t he door are always like Christmas presents! i know what you mean.
Hotter than hell was one of the first records i ever had (along with Live evil of Black Sabbath.
Nate’s blog is great.Bruce Banner are ok but i m not much into pv
Papst thank you for all your other Sayyadina stuff. An Iron Lung/Sayyadina split would be unstoppable, I can’t even imagine it. Thanx also for the heads up on the upcoming album.
Dave, good to see you here man. I agree on Bruce Banner but to be honest with you on this one, I think Sayyadina has them beat. The drumming is just so incredible.
Batguano, isn’t that such a good feeling when you get those records in the mail. I’ve been doing that for so many years and it just never gets old.
Billy Hotter Than Hell was one of my first records as well must have been back around 1978 or so. I got this one to replace that original copy that got lost or something years ago. Next I think I’ll get Alive II.
Not necessarily my favorite genre, but definitely listenable. Sayyadina does have a pretty cool sound. Listening to this makes me wish I could turn you on to a band that is from Seoul called Chadburger, but alas, I have no way of ripping my discs.
Match, I will send him what i have, chad burger rips.
Yeah Matcher you never were one for that style of music so you digging these guys means a lot. I wish I was there to help you with your computer so we could have music coming out of your ears from that thing. Chadburger? Must look them up.
Brian, yes a rip would be nice.
You know why the drummer Ove is called Grind-Ove when you listen to Sayyadina. What I love most about them is Oves mustache
.
That drummer is beyond good at least at playing fast as hell. Shame he didn’t have a mustache in the picture I saw.
