I’ve been wanting to do this post for a while, Grout, the last band I played in. Now this demo just rips. Two reasons, it just does and I’m no longer in the band. Grout was formed after Garden Weasel ended and Steve and I were left without a band. We hooked up with Jeff on guitar and Ty on bass, both of whom had been playing music for some time. I can’t remember the bands that Jeff played in but he and Steve went on to be in the Hitch (which I will post another time). Ty I think had played in a band called Tyrranicide in the bay area. I was only in the band for a little over a year because I moved out of the area. They continued on as a three peice and really tore it up. I can’t remember what all they recorded but I will find out and try to post more. This recording is live on KHSU which by now from my other posts you should be able to tell was a popular thing to do.
Do yourself a favor and give this band a listen. I had a hard time seperating some of the songs because they lead into on another. I hated to do that because it breaks up the rythm, but oh well it’s my blog and I can do whatever I want. Actually you can download the whole demo/show as one big uneditted zip file here,

Here’s the only recording I have with me singing. It’s a pretty sloppy practice tape recorded on a ghetto blaster, but it’s all I have. I had a lot of fun playing in that band and am still in touch with two of the guys. I don’t hold it against them that they never gave me any of my royalties from that big record deal they had. Warner Brothers wanted to sign us to a 5 year contract after they heard this practice tape but we turned them down. I’ll give it to you for free. This is just at 128 kbs but if you really wanted it, I don’t know why, I could upload it at 320.
I was just listening to this the other day as I was driving in my car down to Daegu. Grout fucking ripped! What ever happened to Ty? Wasn’t the last show in Mickeyville at some restaurant, and then Ty was moving to the Bay Area or something.

A true Justin classic line on “I hope I feel”, ‘Fuck you and fuck me/hope we drown in fuckin pee’, truer sentiments have rarely been spoken. Good for Ty, he looks as though he’s doing well, but what is it with people having girls?
That sure was a fun band. I remember seeing Ty right after his housed burned down. I asked him he he wanted to jam. He said his house just burned down but once he settled he’d give a call. Then Grout Happened. Good times, good times.

GG, on the radio demo, the singer is Jeff who also plays guitar. Incredible singer and an incredible improvement from when I was in the band. Glad you dig it man and there was a little bit of country in a couple of those tunes. Mostly to make fun of the hardcore redneck population up there in the nearby town of Mckinnleyville.
no offence to jeff but i like your voice a little better. jeff is a kickass guitarest though and he has a good voice but not as good as the mity justin!
